Why Use Stratified?

Hey all, this is Dallas Jensen, one of the creators behind Stratified. (The other creator is Dan Caudel and he does all the hard work) I am writing this informal post to highlight why we built Stratified.

I have managed various teams in the software space that produce customer or employee-facing content. Mostly around videos, release notes, product documentation, FAQs, and courses to name a few. I have been lucky enough to have mixed teams and this comes with unique problems. We started to see it when the product and development teams would blast out new features, we couldn't keep up. It cast a negative light on our product. At one company, we released every two weeks for early adopter clients.

The problem? Our teams couldn't keep up. Dan created a complex spreadsheet that we used to manually track all the content in one place. It was cumbersome, but at least it was a start. It evolved to get better, but it was still a Google Doc.

Dan and I went on to work at various tech companies here in Utah, where people like to call the tech community Silicon Slopes. Guess what? We saw the same problems, the speed of development was fast and customers kept finding old content. We said, "Let's solve this problem for everyone, not just ourselves." So here we are, just launching Stratified to the market.

We are just past the MVP stage and are really searching for product market fit and finding a lot of success with technical writing teams and learning & development teams. It can be used in any industry or team that tracks any content items.

Like many startups, there are plenty of features that could be built, but we are waiting to see what our customers really want to see next and we will build. Thanks for reading and being on this journey with us. We have left it open to use for free and that will change at some point, so sign up, and start using it. Thanks for reading!
